Revelation 17:15, “And he said unto me, the waters which you sawest, where the whore sitteth are people, and multitudes, and nations and tongues.”
Revelation 18:17, “For in one hour so great riches is come to nought.”
It is announced by the trumpets of Revelation a warning that one third of the earth will be destroyed. This is the judgment of the great whore, who is peoples, and multitudes, and NATIONS and tongues. It is through this great judgment that God will bring the spirit of grace and supplication to Israel. And they shall look upon Him whom they have pierced and see by grace the faithfulness God. And there shall be great weeping and great joy in all the land, for all Israel shall be saved.
Babylon is the place of captivity for the people of God. It is not a place of permanance but of God’s purpose in showing mercy, grace, faithfulness and kindness to His people.
“Behold I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the Lord, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, against all these nation round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing and perpetual desolations. Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of millstones, and the light of the candle. And this whole land (Judah) shall be a desolation, and an astonishment, and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years. And it shall come to pass when the seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the Lord, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations. And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesies against all the nations.” (Jer 25:9-13)
After the captivity God will then judge Babylon. This is fulfilled in the Christ, Yeshua’s death for our sins, His burial and His resurrection the third day.
The interpretation is sure and true, for Psalms 68:18 declares, “Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men.” Paul interprets the passage fulfilled in Yeshua. The interpretation is sure and true!
Thus Babylon is God’s instrument of judgment. Babylon is the place of captivity. The people of God our warned first, 70 weeks before the judgment (Daniel 9), to not be in Babylon, and then Cyrus (He prophesies of Yeshua) gives the decree for them to go back to the land afterwards Babylon is taken and judged. None who were the children perished in the judgment that came upon Babylon. For the children are not appointed to wrath, but life through Yeshua the Christ. The children of God cannot perish in the judgment of God. How much more those who have been chosen in the Mashiach. For the Christ, Yeshua, tasted death, was judged for all men, especially those who believe. If you abide in my word, saith Yeshua, you are truly my disciples, and a disciple of the Christ cannot perish in judgment.
