The church, the assembly of God, is not just Yisrael

I will respond below to quotes from a typical statement taken from Messianic Jewish websites (in bold below). The same error Gentile believers have made in rejecting “the God of Israel” is also made by those who call themselves Messianic Jews. The Gentiles have rejected the natural olive branch, and claim that the church is what Jew and Gentile are grafted into. I say it is the Mashiach, Yeshua, that we are both grafted into, and not the church. The Gentiles would have the natural olive branch be grafted into the wild olive branch. This is not so! We, both Jew and Gentiles are grafted into the Mashiach, the “Olive Tree”, not into each other. Messianic Jews claim that Gentile believers should abide in Israel, as if Israel is not a branch, but the vine or the trunk itself. Again I say that it is the Mashiach, Yeshua, that all believers, whether Jew or Gentile, abide in by grace and the will of God. He, Yeshua, is the root, the vine, the trunk in whom, we Jews and Gentiles are grafted in by God. We, Jews and Gentiles, are the branches, one the natural, the other the wild. This is the understanding of the one true gospel. We, believers both Jews and Gentiles, are taken from all nations. We, believers, the chosen one, will be eunuchs for the Mashiach. They of the nations of the saved, will be given in marriage in eternity to come. We will not be given in marriage in eternity to come. We, the saved in Yeshua, live and reign in the presence of God forever as kings and priests. They, the nations of the saved, bring the glory of the nations to the gates of the New Yerusalem in eternity to come. Corruption puts on incorruption, but mortals put on immortality. We, the children of light in Christ Yeshua, are partakers of the divine nature. They, the nations of the saved, are not partakers of the divine nature. For “the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.” (Rev 22:2)

QUOTE: “Here (in 1 Peter) Kefa (Peter) uses the same prophecy in Hosea to show that Messianic Believers, whether Jews or no-Jews, are Israel even giving all believers the private and exclusive label only Israel was given by YHVH as a “kingdom of priests” and a “holy nation.”

Wrong! The very error Gentile believers are judged to make (and it is an error), is the same error now made by those who call themselves Messianic Jews. Israel is a kingdom of priests only as it pertains to the tribe of Levi within it-not all the inhabitants of Israel are priests. Only one tribe, Levi was appointed to the priesthood and ministered in the temple. For concerning Levi: “The priests have no inheritance in the land”. For in the Mashiach, the earnest of our inheritance is the very Spirit of God. Our inheritance is God Himself, and the inheritance of the Mashiach and His chosen ones is all the nations, as we live and rule with and in the Mashiach, Yeshua, over all the nations forever. God allows us to be partakers of the glories of the Mashiach, Yeshua: all nations and all peoples.

The first epistle of Peter is often used for support for this doctrine of error, either Spiritual Israel, or the Pre-eminance of Israel. In first epistle of Peter it is difficult to separate Peter’s word concerning who he is addressing, Jews or Gentiles. Peter writes in 1 Peter 1:1 he writes to strangers (pilgrims, sojourners without a land). This could be Jew or Gentile, for just as the Jews were rejected by their countrymen, so to the Gentiles in the Mashiach. 1 Peter 1:18: “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers”. Jew and Gentile alike received vain conversation by tradition from their fathers, the Gentiles or nations idol worship, the Jews following after the letter of the law, for the letter killeth, but the Spirit gives life. Or 1 Peter 4:3: “For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, etc.” Jew and Gentile alike have walked as a slave of unrighteousness. Did not the Jews over and over fall into idolatry? Is not this a sin of the nations? What Peter is saying here is Jew and Gentile alike in the Mashiach, Yeshua, are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation (or a distinct people separated from the rest), a people for possession, the assembly of the living God. Indeed the assembly of God is a holy nation, made entirely of kings and priests, male and female, bond and free, a few of all nations. Many are called few are chosen. This is the election of grace. Peter does not even use the word Yisrael in this letter, but does use the word Gentile. Again, you say “Israel was given by Yehovah as a “kingdom of priests” and “a holy nation”; I say you are in error, for the assembly of the living God, the body of Christ in the days of our flesh, is given as a “kingdom of priests” and “a holy nation”. The assembly of God is not Yisrael, just as much as Yisrael is not excluded. The assemblies of God consisting of Jews and Gentiles make up the bride of Christ. The assemblies of God make up the body of Christ in the earth in the days of the flesh. But the assembly is more than any one nation. It is made up of a remnant out of all nations, and fulfills the gospel preached to Abraham: “in thy SEED all the nations of the earth shall be blessed” and the Seed is one, and the Seed (Zerah in Hebrew), is the Mashiach, and the interpretation is sure and true. (Galatians) The assembly of the living God is in the Mashiach. And when the Tanach is fulfilled and completed “all Israel shall be saved”, the assembly of living God will be complete.

QUOTE: The Olive Tree is Israel. The root is Elohim and Mashiach. The grafted in wild olive branches are Messianic Gentiles. As long as they remain in Israel, without being arrogant of their position, they are safe and receive nourishment from the root. It is very important for Messianic Gentiles to see themselves, humbly and thankfully, as a part of Israel. Of the natural branches, the Jewish people, some have been broken off from the nourishment of the root, but not all, and Elohim will gladly graft back again the ones broken off.

No, the olive tree is not Israel. The Mashiach,Yeshua, is the olive tree. The grafted in wild olive branches are the chosen of the Gentiles, just as the grafted in natural olive branches are the chosen of the Jews. Just as Jew and Gentile remain in the Mashiach, and not Israel, and are not arrogant in their position, they will continue in the Lord. It is very important for Jew and Gentile to see themselves humbly and thankfully in the Mashiach (not part of Israel). For the chosen from Israel are exactly that, the chosen from Israel. And God is most certainly able to graft the natural olive branch back into the Mashiach, Yeshua.

Gentiles in the name of Christ have greatly wronged the Jews. But there is no reason to distort the purpose of God to make up the wrong. How could Gentile believers be so wrong and not see what Paul wrote in Roman 9-11. How could the Jews be so wrong about the coming of the Meshiach, Yeshua. I tell you apart from the grace of God, no man can see the most obvious truth of the gospel. All these things whether concerning the Jews or the Gentiles are the work of God. No man can preach the gospel, the power of God unto salvation, except God chooses and gives grace. There are times and generations when God simply does not choose men to declare the gospel, and men continue to say thus saith the Lord, and they error, but God does have a remnant in every generation. They greatly error!

Beloved, beware of men. Remain in the true grace of God, the gospel of God: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes. (Romans) God is able to take men as us, men of like passion, and save us by the power of the gospel. As long as the gospel is preached I will rejoice. But in our day and hour, the gospel is not preached in many places according to the purpose of God, and the one true gospel without controversy is the Mashiach, Yeshua died for our sins according to the scriptures (the Old Testament), He was buried and He rose again the third day according to all the writings of the prophets (the Tanahk)(Luke 24, 1 Cor 15:1-6). It is written: “the prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means, and my people love to have it so.” Beloved, with care and the abundance grace of God hear these words carefully. For all I desire is your souls betrothed to Christ. I covet no man’s gold or silver or nothing of man’s. For God has granted grace for the gospel to be preached all these years free of charge. I have worked with my hands. And so the gospel will not be defamed, grace upon grace I will continue to be chargeable to none.
