The Book of Proverbs Speaks of Christ

There was a time when I saw the book of Proverbs as a book of laws, rules to live by, principles. I knew of it no other way, despite Yeshua saying, “You search the scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life, it is they that testify of ME.” Despite Yeshua saying, “the Law and the Prophets prophesied until Yohan” (the baptist he is called). Yeshua said the writings of the prophets, the Old Testament, the Tanach (they are one and the same) ARE CONCERNING HIM. These are not my words, beloved, but the words of the Son of God who was raised to the right hand throne of God with all power and authority, seated there until all His enemies are put under His feet. Again, not my words.

So there I was one day seeing the book of Proverbs as letter only, laws, regulations, rules to live by. I was not seeing the book of Proverbs in light of the Mashiach, Yeshua. Then God opened my eyes by His Spirit of grace. The first place was Proverbs 30:1, “The words of Agur, the son of Yakeh, the prophecy, the man spake unto Itheiel, even unto Ithiel and Ucal.” And to witness to this Proverbs 31:1, “The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.” God opened my eyes to see that there was indeed prophecy in Proverbs. And if in these two places that which I never saw, how about the rest of the book? And He opened my eyes by the Spirit of grace to see all the book of Proverbs as prophecy. He opened my eyes see the truth of Yeshua’s words, “You search the Old Testament for in them you think you have eternal life, it is they that testify of ME.” The Old Testament testifies of the Mashiach, Yeshua!

The testimony of two confirm the fact of the one true gospel and the words of Yeshua:

Proverbs 3:35: “The wise shall inherit glory, but shame shall be the promotion of fools.” He who knew no sin became sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. He became a fool for us by the foolishness of God, the one true gospel, as we become fools for Him. He became a reproach for us, and bear the reproach of God, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

Proverbs 13:1: “The wise son heareth his father’s instruction, but a scorner heareth not rebuke.” Yeshua is the wise son, and He heard the rebuke of His Father, and died for all people in perfect love. And God the Father looked down upon His Son and found Him to be perfect in spirit and in love, and raised Him from the dead and glorified Him. All the writings of the prophets testify of Yeshua ha Mashiach.
