Beloved, the gospel is the power of God unto salvation. The gospel or good news of Yeshua ha Mashiach is the power of God that converts a person, that is saving a person, that saves a person. Paul the apostolos writes that his conversion was a pattern for those who should afterward believe.
“This a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation that the Mashiach, Yeshua, came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Yeshua the Mashiach might show forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them who should afterward believe on Him to life to the ages.”-1 Tim
Paul at the writing of the first letter of Timothy understood his own conversion. God had given him understanding to some degree of the reason he was chosen: to show forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them who should hereafter believe. But even with some understanding God must be our judge. For as the glories of eternity are revealed who can be worthy of these thing. For we were chosen before we did any evil or good, before the foundation of the world. God must be our judge ( and thus the judgment of others are a small thing to the spiritual in the Mashiach. Paul understood he was saved by grace through faith (it, faith, is a gift of God), not of works lest any man should boast. Was Paul seeking what was always missing in his life as the false prophets of our day say? No! He was in the midst of consenting to imprison the followers of Yeshua, filled with murderous thoughts. No sinner’s prayer! No baptism! No great longing in his heart for truth and finally finding it, as the false prophets of our day say. HE WAS KNOCKED TO THE GROUND BY GOD in the midst of going to Damascus with expressed purpose of bringing men or women followers of Yeshua bound back to Yerushalem for imprisonment and even death. He was breathing out threatening and slaughters. And Ananias after his conversion said, “how much evil he hath done to the saints at Yerushalem”. And here (Yerushalem) he has authority from the chielf priests to bind all that call on Thy name. Beloved, Paul was not performing any work. He was being a sinner. He was no seeking truth, quite the contrary, he was seeking to kill those who walked in the truth. He did not say a sinner prayer. He did not stop and get baptized first. He did not speak in tongues. He did not join a synogogue. Can you not see that all there was in Paul’s conversion was God making choice-God’s will. God chose to reveal His Son, Yeshua, to Paul by pure grace, and grace alone. God Himself in Yeshua preached the one true gospel to Paul. There was the Christ died, and it was according to the Tanach. There was He was buried. And there was He was raised the third day according to the Tanach. Grace caused Paul to accept what he could not accept before, and God willing him grace. And God made sure it would not be apart from the assembly, for Paul after his conversion “was three days without sight, and did neither eat nor drink”. Though grace had come, there would be three days separated from “the Mashiach among us, the hope of glory” and “we have the mind of the Mashiach”. And God sent a representative of the assembly of God, Hananiah, to Saul” and he received his sight, and was filled with the Holy Spirit, and arose and was dipped in the name of Yeshua. And then when he had received food, he was strengthened. Then was Saul after certain days with the disciples (assembly of God) which were at Damascus. And they were fellowshipping in the one true gospel, and the one true gospel is without controversy in the grace of God, is the Mashiach, Yeshua, died for our sins according to the Tanach, He was buried and He rose again the third day according to the Tanach. And after much fellowship in the one true gospel for certain days, immediately he preached the Mashiach (the fulfillment of the Tanach, for Paul knew the Tanach, the word of God) in the synagogues that He, Yeshua of Nazareth, is the Son of God, the fulfillment of the gospel preached unto Avraham, “in thy seed (and the seed is one, and the seed is Yeshua ha Meshiach) all the nations of the earth shall be blessed.
Paul has right understanding about his conversion and the grace of God and the will of God. Paul had right understanding about what the one true gospel is. And in our generation of judgment this is lacking by the will and purpose of God: strong delusion to believe a lie, and reject the one true gospel by those who call themselves Christians.
And all the children of grace must have right understanding of their conversion, and of grace and of the will of God. Without this understanding they will not see the Lord. For they will see their conversion as a work, and they will see their salvation as their work. They will not be saved from sin, and death and judgment. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
